Voici les performances en calcul scientifique. Les coprocesseurs (68881 ou 68882)
permettent de booster ces opérations. Les 68040 et 68060 ont le FPU intégré.
A noter: le décalage énorme sur les calculs scientifiques entre machines possédant un coprocesseur arithmétique et celles
n'en ayant pas (no FPU).
Ceci est particulièrement vrai pour le Falcon qui, équipé d'un FPU en restant à 16MHz développe une puissance
incomparable par rapport à la machine accélérée (40MHz) sans FPU.
Attention: échelle logarithmique! A chaque niveau, ça double la performance!! |

Here are the performances when computing scientific calculations.
The specialized coprocessors (68881 or 68882) allows to speed up those operations. The 68040 and 68060
come with an integrated FPU.
Note: see how far the machines without FPU are! The difference is tremendous.
Particularly true for the Falcon. With a FPU even at 16MHz, it shows a much greater power
than an accelerated machine at 40MHz without FPU.
Attention: logarithmic scale! At each step, this doubles the performance!! |
